Clarence Day był również znanym publicystą. Pisał artykuły do czasopisma The New Yorker, tam też publikował rysunki satyryczne związane z aktualnymi wydarzeniami politycznymi. Był zwolennikiem przyznania kobietom prawa wyborczego.
